New business opens in downtown Belleville

Downtown Belleville has welcomed a new business.

Downtown welcomes Bree’s Bookkeeping & Taxes as the newest business to open in 2020. Located in the former White’s Tax Service office on Front Street, owner and accountant Bree-Ann Lutz felt it was the perfect place to start her own business.

As part of her Loyalist College accounting program in 2015, Lutz completed her placement with White’s Tax Service in downtown Belleville. She was hired on full-time by Jeff White after the placement. In 2019, White retired from the business and Lutz took over many of his loyal clientele and decided to open her own company.

“I chose to open in White’s former location because it’s central,” stated Lutz. “I’ve always liked being downtown and our clients are familiar with the location.”

Bree’s Bookkeeping & Taxes serves clients from Toronto to Ottawa with the majority of their clients residing in Belleville. They specialize in sole proprietor, small to medium size businesses. Lutz is certified in Quick Books online and Sage 50.

“Taxes aren’t as scary as you think,” stated Lutz. “We have an open door policy so you can come by and ask any questions to help make the process less daunting.”

With tax season having arrived, clients can drop off their taxes at Bree’s Bookkeeping & Taxes and pick up in a few days.
